The Holocaust Educational Foundation is dedicated to spreading and strengthening Holocaust studies at colleges and universities. To this end, it invites applications for assistance in either launching a course related to the Holocaust (e.g., support for released time for the participating faculty member(s)) or improving institutional resources to support such a course (e.g., the purchase of books or audio-visual material). To date, the Foundation has made grants of this sort to over 400 colleges and universities worldwide.
The Foundation is a facilitating organization; it does not prescribe curricula or content. Applications are reviewed year-round, and decisions are made and funds released as the annual budget permits. Applicants for support should direct a letter outlining their goals and needs, as well as a C.V., to:
Mr. Theodore Z. Weiss
Holocaust Educational Foundation
64 Old Orchard Bldg. Suite 520
Skokie, IL 60077
(or hef3@aol.com)
In addition to course-related grants, the Foundation seeks to aid professors and graduate students in deepening their knowledge. It therefore entertains applications annually for a limited number of ad hoc awards for specific teaching-related projects. Applicants under this heading should send a letter outlining their goals and needs to Mr. Weiss at either of the above addresses.
